Before I became a music business writer, I worked at AIM and prior to that I worked in academia, being awarded my PhD** from the University Of Westminster in 2001.
Not having left academia completely, I have guest lectured at a number of universities, including Goldsmiths, University Of Liverpool, SOAS, Bucks and City University.

* I won Music Business Writer Of The Year at the Record Of The Day Awards for the last two years of its existence. These wins were not – as far as I could make out – the cause of the ending of the Record Of The Day Awards.
** Yes, that means that technically I am Dr Eamonn Forde. But I rarely go by that as, well, it’s a bit self-regarding to insist people call you by your title. (I should stress that it is an actual PhD that I spent three years working on – not an honorary one.)
